Uzbekistan's Carbon Footprint: Challenges and Prospects

The carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by human activities, expressed in carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2 equivalent). These emissions include CO2, methane (CH4), nitrogen oxide (NO2) and other gases that contribute to global warming. Carbon footprints can be measured for individuals, organisations, products and even countries to assess their contribution to climate change.

Disposal of municipal solid waste
The concept of "municipal solid waste" emerged with the development of urban life and the increase in the volume of goods consumed. At the beginning of the 19th century, with population growth and urbanisation, waste management in cities became a pressing issue. At that time, municipal waste consisted mainly of organic materials such as food scraps, textiles and wood, which decomposed by themselves.
Problems of labor protection in Uzbekistan

In recent years, Uzbekistan has made significant progress in protecting the interests, honour and dignity of citizens, as well as in liberalizing the economy and integrating into world markets. Cases of forced and child labor have been successfully eliminated, and freedom of speech, conscience and gender equality are being promoted.

Uzbekistan's economy is multi-sectoral, including coal, mining, non-mining, metallurgical, chemical, oil and gas extraction, oil and gas processing and agro-industrial spheres. In this regard, the task of developing effective mechanisms to protect labor rights and ensure labor safety is becoming increasingly urgent.

Consideration of programs and projects aimed at preservation and maintenance of biodiversity in Uzbekistan

Biological diversity, also known as biodiversity, encompasses the variation of life on Earth in all its manifestations, from genes and microorganisms to entire ecosystems such as forests or coral reefs. The biodiversity currently observed represents the result of a multi-billion-year evolutionary history that spans more than 4.5 billion years and is increasingly affected by human activity.

Education programmes and projects aimed at developing human capital in Uzbekistan

Human capital is the knowledge, skills and health that people invest in and accumulate during their lives, enabling them to fulfil their potential as contributing members of society. Investing in people through better nutrition, health care, quality education, job creation and skills training contributes to human capital development, which is key to eradicating extreme poverty and building more socially cohesive societies.

Education is central and plays a key role in the process of investment in human capital, as it is education that shapes the labour force to be skilled and productive.
