The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is implementing a large-scale renewable energy strategy (https://minenergy.uz/en/news/view/3182)  to deploy of cost-effective and environment-friendly generation to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the country.
 
In this regard, “Uzbekhydroenergo” is launching the procurement process of the first lot for the new hydropower plants in Uzbekistan on the public-private partnership (“PPP”) basis. The first lot will include five (5) new hydropower plants with an estimated total capacity of approximately 46,6 MW including the required evacuation infrastructure.
