HPP TO BE BUILT IN UZBEKISTAN ON THE BASIS OF THE FIRST PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

The use of renewable energy sources in the production of electricity, the efficient use of available water potential, the launch of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants is an important solution for research in this area.
The construction of new hydroelectric power plants on the principle of public-private partnership creates ample opportunities for investors.
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 8, 2022 No. PF-101 “On further reforms to improve the business environment and create conditions for sustainable economic growth through the development of the private sector”, Uzbekhydroenergo JSC takes the initiative as a customer. Manages and controls the timely and high-quality implementation of these projects.
In this regard, JSC "Uzbekhydroenergo" for the first time in Uzbekistan qualified on the terms of public-private partnership 5 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 46.6 MW, an average annual output of 179 million kWh and a total cost of 106.9 million US dollars - "Kyzyldare", "Suvlisoy", "Dukentsoy", "Kamchik" and "Guyi Koksuv" in a single lot to attract an investor ( private partner) announces that a Request for Bid (RFQ) will be submitted.
Highly qualified foreign consultants were sent to the hydroelectric power plants, which are planned to be built on the basis of PPP by the World Bank, at the expense of the Institutional Capacity Development grant.
In particular, on the basis of a tender, Synergy Infrastructure and Financial Advisory Services Inc. was selected as a financial consultant, Dolsar Engineering as a technical consultant, and UNICASE as a legal consultant, with which contracts were concluded.
These companies are working to harmonize design documents with international standards.
Bidding in a single lot simplifies project implementation, streamlines the process, and helps ensure efficiency and transparency.
Using the experience of foreign companies in ensuring long-term financial stability and viability of projects, in development based on the highest engineering standards with the full use of natural resources, in the legal regulation of all aspects of the construction process, serves to guarantee the activity of investors.
JSC "Uzbekhydroenergo" as a customer invites all interested local and foreign investors to actively participate in tenders for the launch of these projects.
Tender bidding is scheduled to launch in August this year.
