Carrying out a field mission under the project “Climate-Resilient Water Sector Development in the Amu Darya Basin”

🔷 From 13 to 18 November 2025, specialists from Index Consulting Company, together with partners, carried out a field mission under the project “Climate-Resilient Water Sector Development in the Amu Darya Basin”, implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions.

During the mission, meetings were held with the Deputy Hokim of Surkhandarya region and regional agencies to strengthen coordination and align plans. Consultations with stakeholders, technical inspections of the Obizarang reservoir and areas designated for irrigation system modernization, as well as a review of archaeological research at the Ayakchi site were conducted. Special attention was given to engagement with local communities to ensure an inclusive approach.

The mission strengthened cooperation among participants and outlined the next steps for advancing the project.
